Tara Lee was recently featured on the UnSequenced podcast to share the inspiration behind her work "The Vertical."

Atlanta choreographer Tara Lee created The Vertical for Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre in spring 2018. She says her interest in the aging process compelled her to create the work, which explores life in all of its stages. Lee takes us behind the scenes of The Vertical, including how she came to incorporate an "adult sandbox."

What is UnSequenced?

UnSequenced is a podcast in which we discover the stories and emotions behind the movement. Each episode dives deep into the creative process with a choreographer, documenting what compels them as an artist, what drives their artistic decisions for a particular work, and what unexpected things come up along the way. This is a sound-rich, highly produced podcast, drawing inspiration from the formats of shows like NPR’s This American Life and Radiotopia’s Song Exploder. It’s an oral history for the creations of these works, as well as an accessible medium for an audience broader than the dance industry.
